23 / 4 / 2016, Villa Asteri
Family trip
My relatives and I rented this place for a family trip and I can positively say we couldn't have stayed in a better Villa, not have had a better host. Esther and Dimitri made us feel immensely welcomed! They not only provided us with a beautiful house with all the facilities we could hoped for but also helped us all the way - from arranging transportation, to helping us to choose places and activities suitable for a family of 10, including a child, a baby and a grandmother with mobility dificulties. We were all looked after extremely well, and because of that, we managed to relax and enjoy every single moment of the trip. We are grateful to Esther and Dimitri's dedication to their home and guests; we really did felt at home. My in laws asked me to publish their review as well; here it is: Esther and Dimitris Agorastakis are ideal hosts. She’s Swiss/German, so very efficient, and he’s a marine engineer, so very practical. Esther organised pick-ups at the airport, a couple of great trips, and even lent us a wheel chair, when one of our family suddenly needed one. Eight adults and two small children fitted into the ground floor of the villa very nicely. In May, the pool was a bit cold for the Brazilian part of our family, but great for the British ‒ swimming before breakfast was heaven! The kitchen water filter meant we didn’t have to keep buying bottled water, and there was a ‘welcome pack’ of breakfast essentials. We could also pick the fruit in the garden, which was delicious. There’s a couple of food shops, and beach-side tavernas within a few minutes walk of the villa, and the local area is quiet, because it’s mainly residential rather than touristy. Buses cost €1.70 to go to Hania, via other pretty beaches, but a taxi only costs €9 for four people. I was worried about possible aircraft noise, but the airport is 25 km away and we heard nothing
